Dear Honors Choir Families,
I hope you are staying warm and well as the weather is like
a roller coaster.
Some announcements/reminders for Honors Choir in the weeks
to come:
- The
next performance of the Honors Choir will be in April due to the
weather-related cancellation in December. Many more details to follow in
the coming weeks about our all-day trip to Kansas City on Friday, April 3.
- T-shirts
are still available while supplies last. If you would like to purchase a
t-shirt, please send $10 cash or check (made payable to Columbia Public
Schools) to rehearsal with your singer. You may also send checks only
to the home school music teacher and email me what size your child would
like.
- Check
your calendar! On Saturday, February 1, there will be a viewing of a MET
Opera simulcast at Forum 8 Theatre of George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess.
This is an optional event, and a limited number of students may attend. A
sign-up link will be sent out shortly. Due to violent scenes in the
production, all Honors Choir singers must be accompanied by an adult.
- For weekly rehearsals,
students should arrive to West Middle School no earlier than 3:45pm.
The team of directors come from different directions all over town and
cannot guarantee your child will be supervised until 3:45 each week.
Singers should be picked up from WMS no later than 5:20pm
following weekly rehearsals. Students who are consistently picked up late
may not be eligible to continue membership in the ensemble. Thank
you for respecting the evening commitments of the team of directors.
- If your student will be
absent from any Honors Choir rehearsal or event, please email me as soon
as possible.
- All communications sent
to the distribution list are also available on our blog: http://cps5honorschoir.blogspot.com/
- If you have any
questions or concerns, please email me directly.
Have a wonderful week!
