March 21, 2017--KC trip only

Dear HC families of singers going to KC,

Hi! If you’re getting this it’s because you signed up your singer to go to the KC honors choir trip on April 7^th. (If your plans have changed, please email me ASAP!)

We are so excited about this trip!!! It will be very fun! I’m attaching the agenda, but I want to highlight a few things first:

·        You will need to bring your singer to West Middle on April 7^th. We need them there at 8:40 am and 8:50 because we’d like to leave by 8:55 (There is NO BUS to bring them from their home school.)

·        We will provide lunch and dinner.

·        If your student will need to take medication between 8:40 am and 11:00 pm you will need to contact me via email ASAP.

·        They will need to wear black pants/skirts/socks/shoes during the day. They can wear their honors choir t-shirt or their school shirt. They will need to bring their white, button up dress shirt to pair with the cardigan and tie at the concert.

·        Limit items brought because if they get lost there is no replacement. (A drawstring backpack is usually all they need for items brought.)

·        We will need someone at West when we return that evening to pick up your singer. Make sure the phone number you gave me on the google form is up to date so you will receive the text we send out around 10:40 when we cross the Missouri River near Rocheport.

·        If you are traveling to KC to see your singer in the concert that evening, the concert is at 7:00 pm. You have already told me on the google form if you plan to pick them up after the concert. Check in with me before the concert between 6:15-6:45 that evening so we don’t leave anyone behind.

8:40-8:50 am                 Families should drop off students at West Middle School

(There will NOT be busses transporting students from home schools to West Middle)

8:55 am                         Leave Columbia from West

11:00 am                       Arrive in Kansas City

11:20 am -12:20 pm     Lunch at Minsky’s Pizza

         

12:20-1:00 pm               Walk to UMKC

1:00-1:50 pm                Rehearsal at UMKC

2:00 pm                         Ride busses to the church

2:45-4:00 pm                Rehearsal in church

4:15 pm                         Private Kauffman Center Tour https://www.kauffmancenter.org/

5:00-5:45 pm                Dinner at the church

5:45-6:30 pm                 Dress for concert

7:00 pm                         Concert at church  http://www.kcgolddome.org/index2.php

8:30 pm                         Leave for Columbia

10:40 pm                       Families pick up students at West Middle School, we will text from Rocheport…please make sure we have your correct phone number

For families that are traveling to Kansas City on April 7^th:

If you have indicated on the google form that you will check out your student to travel home with you after the concert, please check in with Ms. Hoeppner at the church. She will be available in the sanctuary before the concert from 6:15-6:45 pm.
