Second Semester Schedule 2016-17

Rehearsals at West Middle School, starting at 4:00 PM. Students may NOT be dropped off earlier than 3:45. Rehearsal ends at 5:15. All students should be picked up no later than 5:30.

Hey 5th grade HC families,

Thanks again for a great year this year in Honors Choir!! We loved our group and really appreciate all the families that supported our singers and our choir.

Have a great end of the school year, and get ready for middle school!! There will be lots of chances to sing there in choirs and classes and even in plays! Go out and do it!! If you need any help contacting a middle school choir teacher, let us (or your home elementary school teacher) know! We'll be glad to help!!!

March 22 correction

HC families,

I did NOT send three emails…but somehow they were sent. I promise to have IT look at that first thing tomorrow.

We DO HAVE rehearsals on these dates:

April 6       (I’m a dork and got my Tuesdays/Wednesdays mixed.)

April 13      (So sorry…please try and forgive!)

April 12

Our concert is April 19^th and there is NO rehearsal on that day. JUST THAT ONE DAY.

After our concert on April 19^th, we are finished!!

March 21 Update

Hey HC crew!

Thanks to everyone for filling out the KC trip survey! I will have to assume if you did NOT fill it out it’s because your student is NOT going to KC. If there is some mistake and you did not get to fill it out because of an emergency, your final chance is now:

We have gotten notice that tomorrow Rock Bridge and Two Mile Prairie will not be able to be at rehearsal due to school conflicts. Thanks for letting us know! We have also received word that April 5^th the Lee students will be gone on a field trip. I greatly appreciate families getting this info to me early! That helps out a great deal!

We have these rehearsal left:

Tomorrow (3/22), April 5^th & 12^th. Our concert is April 19^th and there will be no rehearsal at 4:15 that afternoon. Our call time (time for the singers to be at the concert) is 6:00 pm at Battle High School. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm in the Battle Performing Arts Center.

KC Trip Important Info/Fill out survey!!!

Hey HC parents!!

Long time, me no bug you!!! Now I’m back and we need to be serious:

Our big trip to KC is coming up fast, ONE MONTH FROM TODAY!!! We need to collect information from you PRONTO! Please see the attached agenda and see if this trip will be right for you singer. Some notes:

·       We will be gone a WHOLE DAY OF SCHOOL

·       You will need to drop off your singer at Lange AFTER school has started at your home school (8:40) because we will NOT have busses transporting singers from their home school to Lange, so you’ll have to be able to do this or find someone to carpool with

·       We are providing lunch and dinner for them! Yay!!

·       We will sing/rehearse with a UMKC choir & professor

·       We will tour the Kaufman Performing Arts Center

·       We will give an amazing concert at the Church of the Gold Dome

·       We can take a few chaperones, but only those who are currently certified volunteers in your singer’s home school and can ride the bus with us.

·       Families are welcome to attend the concert in KC at 7:00 pm.

·       Someone will need to be at Lange to pick up your singer at 10:00 pm SHARP!!!

Please read the attached agenda and follow the link below to let us know if you student will or will not be joining us. (There is no consequence if your singer cannot go. We have a concert here two weeks later, same music.) Please fill out the online form by next Friday, March 18^th!!

8:40-8:55 am              Families should drop off students at Lange Middle School

(There will NOT be busses transporting students from home schools to Lange)

9:00 am                       Leave Columbia from Lange

11:00 am                     Arrive in Kansas City

11:20 am -12:20 pm   Lunch at Minsky’s Pizza

           

12:20-1:00 pm            Walk to UMKC

1:00-1:50 pm              Rehearsal at UMKC

2:00 pm                      Ride busses to the church

2:45-4:00 pm              Rehearsal in church

4:15 pm**                  Private Kauffman Center Tour**

5:00-5:45 pm              Dinner at the church

5:45-6:30 pm              Dress for concert

7:00 pm**                  Concert at church**

8:30 pm                      Leave for Columbia

10:00 pm                    Families pick up students at Lange Middle School, please be on time

For families that are traveling to Kansas City on April 8^th:

If you wish to check out your student to travel home with you after the concert, you will need to sign them out with Ms. Hoeppner at the church. She will be available in the sanctuary before the concert from 6:15-6:45 pm.

**These are the activities families may join the choir during the trip.

Important information about the extra performance!!!!

If you are getting this email it is because you filled out the survey for the extra performance and you let us know you would be there. Here is the information you need:

Date: Wednesday, February 10^th

Time: Performance is at 7:30 pm, call time is 7:00 pm (This is a change!!!)

Place: First Baptist Church, 1112 East Broadway (This is also a change!!)

Attire: Place from waist to toe, white above the waist

Other Choirs: RBHS Choir and two of UMKC’s choirs!!!!

If you are not going to be able to be there, please let me know ASAP!
